"The latter-day Saints are known for their sincerity in their worship, and the absence of any ritual. Their worship is not a matter of words nor j posture, but a matter of their faith. "This life of ours is preliminary to a practical one, we have much to au with the material facts." The speaker speak-er then referred to the life of the hermit: "Christ counseled against that style of life. We need money for the one single thing that represents. Money has often been quoted as the root of all evil,' but the scripture doesn't say that is so. "With us it is lent to men for temporary tem-porary possession, but the good 'landlord' 'land-lord' requires that we render a stew- t ardship in the end, Tithing is not specifically a Christian institution, as a matter of fact, it goes back to the I Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Chinese, and many other natlous, who recognize the dividing law of the tithes. "The Latter-day Saints is the only church today that professes to live un-der un-der the law of tithes. The tithes aro not a gift; they are a debt. Ac-cording Ac-cording to the interpretation of the word 'tithe' It means one-tenth of : our possessions.
