Show MAYOR OF BOISE IS AGAIN UNDER FIRE Boise, Dec. 10 Mayor Arthur Hod ges of Boise, prospective candidate for governor, was today made defendant de-fendant In a second ouster case to remove him from oflice The com plaint is mado by John Tucker, a clti zen, who alleges that Hodges has I knowingly permitted, in violation of the laws and ordinances of this city houses of 111 fame t operate here and I that they are conducting an illegal I traffic with the consent of the mayor It Is further alleged that he has permitted per-mitted the illegal sale of liquor in the j underworld. Judges Davis and McCarthy of the IdlHtrlct court permitted the second louster complaint to be filed after a conference. The law gives them the power to refuse or permit Us filing. Judge Walters of the district court, who was called In to hear the former ouster comnlalnt, held with Mayor Hodges. J. I Mills, the complalntant. carried an appeal to the supreme court, where It Is now pending. The filing of the second complaint today caused a sensation. It followed quickly quick-ly on the heels of wholesale arrests of tho women conducting houses, on evidence furnished by a citizens' committee com-mittee Hodges' alleged policy of police po-lice protection to the underworld women has caused coustant agitation since he went into office a year ago. |
