From the two sides of the balcony a canopy In red and white had been arranged, while garlands and baskets of evergreen gae a holiday atmosphere atmos-phere to the affair. At the west side of the hall a large "Happy New Year' greeting in evergreen had been placed. Excellent music was furnished by the academy fourteen piece orchestra for a program of twenty-four dances. In front of the orchestra stand a lattice lat-tice work of red and white presented a pretty effect. Service of delicious fruit punch was a feature of the enjoyable party. HOME CULTURE CLUB. The Home Culture club's first meeting meet-ing in the new year was held with Mrs. Thomas J. Fitzgerald on Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at her Dome, 2424 Jackson Jack-son avenue, and piwed to be an interesting in-teresting one. Mrs. W. E. Moore reviewed Kipling's Kip-ling's "Kin" in a splendid manner and Interesting and Instructive articles were given by Mrs. Putnam, Mrs, Cool-idge Cool-idge and Mrs. Maule. Delicious dainties were served by Mrs. FitzgeraJd. The next meeting to be held with Mrs. J. F. Hohbs will not follow the printed program but will be devoted to th new Bengal poet, Tagore. 8EGO LILY CIRCLE OFFICERS. At a public installation of Sego Liiy 18 Circle No. 174, Women of Woodcralt, last night, the following officers were installed for the coming year: Installing officer, Minnie Mulier; guardian neighbor, Francis Coppock, past guardian neighbor, Mary E. A large crowd was present and all enjoyed the splendid banquet at the close of the evening. Ellis were united in mar rlage by the Reverend John Edward Carver. The Gunnell home at 2122 Washington Washing-ton avenue presented a pretty scene, smllax. palms,, and white roses being tastily arranged. Promptly at 1:30 o'clock the bride, daintily attired, and accompanied by her father, entered the parlor where beneath an arch of fragrant white roses ro-ses Mr. Ellis awaited them, and Reverend Rev-erend Carver performed the Impressive Impres-sive ring ceremony. Mra, Louise Pierce rendered the Mendelssohn's processional march. Immediately following the wedding Ceremony, a sumptuous luncheon was served by Mrs. Gunnell, covers being laid for a large number of friends of the happy couple. A honeymoon trip through Oregon, Washington and California coast cities cit-ies will be enjoyed and after February Febru-ary 15, Mr. and Mrs. Ellle will be at home to their friends in this city where they have a beautiful new home. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis were the happy recipients of many beautiful and costly presents. |
