Show TOlEFER U. S. REPLY After a Conference With Ambassador Chinda Secretary Bryan Bry-an Announced That the Answers Would be Made Next Week. Washington. July" 10. After a conference con-ference of an hour and a quarter with Ambassador Chinda, Secretary Bryan today announced that tho dispatch of the reply to the two Latest Japanese notes on the California antl-alien law might be deferred until next week. Mr. Bryan told inquirers that tho points of his reply were discussed with Ambassador Chinda but he declined de-clined to make public any part of the details under consideration The fact that Mr. Bryan proposes to postpone the dispatch of bis. reply-gave reply-gave rise to the conclusion In diplomatic diplo-matic circles that be will redraft the note, which It was supposed was In readiness for transmission to the Tokio government. Mr. Bryan said however that no point was raised In his conference with the amzassador which would necessitate ne-cessitate lscount Chinda's communication commun-ication with his government before the delivery of the American reply. Mr. Bryan before the conference had said he expected to make the reply re-ply before the end of thi6 week. No reason for the change was given. |
