Show EXAMINATION FOR FOREST RANGER The I'nited States civil service commission announces an examination examina-tion for assistant forest ranger on October 21 and 22 In field district No. 4 of the forest service the examination ex-amination will be held In Idaho at Boise. Challls. Emmeit. Hailey, Mac-kay, Mac-kay, Moutpelier. Oakley. Pocatello. 1 Solroon, Victor and Weiser; in Nevada Ne-vada at Austin Ely. Gold Creek, Lamoille, La-moille, and Paradise; in Utah at L:phraim, Escalante, Kanas, Logan, Moab. Nephl. Pangultch, Provo. Richfield Rich-field St George Sallna. Salt Lake City, and Vernal; and in Wyoming at Afton and Jackson. Candidates must be able-bodied i rren between the ages of 21 and 40. ci pable of enduring all the hardship? of outdoor life A medical certlfi cate to this effect Is required The examination consists of two part-, a i field test and the answering or prac- tical questions The latter relate to l;md surveying, timber estimating, lumbering, land laws, mining, and the livestock business Practical experience experi-ence and general intelligence, as i shewn by ability to write with reasonable rea-sonable clearness of expression, are the main requirements Rangers must be residents of the state in which they seek employment, and should be familiar with local Industrial Indus-trial conditions and topography From the list of successrul candidates, candi-dates, the government Elects new-men new-men for the forest service, who are appointed as assistant forest rangers, a' $1100 yearly salary They nre el-Ig'ble el-Ig'ble to promotion later to hlgheY i grades.
