It was learned today for the tirsl time that the concession secured by the Pearson syudicate include large tracts of land and harbor rights nn tin- gulf of Darlen. whit h Is within a short distance of the Panama tanul zone as well as sites along the Atra-tor Atra-tor rlvor, which is the main waterway water-way leading from the Carrlbean gulf toward the west coast. A number of years ago a route for a proposed Isthmian canal was sur-vt sur-vt yed along the Altrato river but nothing was heard of the mutter until Edward H. Harriman became Interested Inter-ested In the project about a year before be-fore he died. Many are of the opinion opin-ion that had he lived Mr Harriman would have pushed the construction of the canal.
