After they had poured a charge of nitro-glycerine into in-to the cracks of the safe, they lighted light-ed the fuae and retreated, leaving the watchman lying before tho safe door Fuse Went Out. When the fuse had burned almost to the charge, it sputtered and went out. After waiting some time for the explosions, the robbers attempted to return but 'he spring lock had snapped snap-ped on the door of the office which they had shut behind them and thev bad left the watchman's keys on tho inside Before they could force the door the were frightened off by passers-by." |
