Show YOUNG MEN ARE I IN JAIL FOR TRESPASS Four young men not one more than 24 years of age. faced Judge W II Reeder In police court this morning on the charge of trespass. Thc were I arrested by railroad officers for seek-j seek-j ing refuge in the Denver & Rio j Grande roundhouse- Saturday niglii Only one of the boys had an overcoat, over-coat, and even with that he did not appear to have enough clothes to keep warm in moderately cold weather. The others had on threadbare suits without csts and all were so dirty It was Impossible to tell their color All told hard luck storks of lnabil ity to get work, although one hal worked a day and a half in a restau -anl washing dishes and was promised B job on a dinnig car. The others bad been released from work when the construction gnnga closed down for the winter Notwithstanding the fact that the wther outside was "rigid, the cjunrtcne did not desire to serve u Jail sentence where they would be sure of board and lodgliiL but wanted to be released to seeur work. One boy stn'd his mother was 'aking In washing and he had prom Ised to get a Job in order that sh OUld take a rest They claimed they were perariitti 'o remain In the roundhouse by th-day th-day foreman, but were arrested wIkh the night force came on Judge Reeder took the case under advisement. There were no witness es from the railroad and the Judge desired to hear the other side of the storx |
