Show saluakF 1 MRS.W.B.BANCROFT DIES IN SkU LAKE Salt Lake, Jan. 6. Mrs. Mary R Bancroft. G4 years of age, wife of W K. Bancroft, vice president and general gen-eral manager of the Oregon Short Line railroad, died at the family home, 1207 Ean South Temple street last evening, after an illness of two day. Though Mrs Bancroft had been in failing health for the last four or five years, her condition did not become alarming until Thursday night. From then until the end she was given ev- 'ery possible attention thar science af- ! fords, but without avail Mrs. Bancroft was horn in Port I lervls. N. Y., Junc IS. 184S. She was formerly Mary R Baird. She was marri. ij 10 Mr. Bancroft while ho was a telegraph operator nn the Erie railroad She came west with him about twentv-fire years ago. and had ! lived in Suit Lake for many years. She Is mourned bj a circle of friends who learned that "to know her was to love her." Mrs. Bancroft was by nature a home-loving woman, and It was in the setting of her home that she will be remembered by all who were so fortunate as to have come within the reach of her gentleness Besides her husband, Mrs. Bancroft .is survived by two adopted dauchters, Marie and Adelaide. Both of the ' young women are living at the family home nnd were at the bedside of Mrs. Bancroft during her illness. Private funeral services will N hoi 1 at tho residence Monday afternoon after-noon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will j be in Mt. Olivet ceraeterv |
