STEWART V STE ART MACDONALD president of the Moon Motor Car Company from boy boy- hood boyhood cherished a desire to create and build a great automobile With this in mind he r became an engineer after which he became becam e associated with the Moon Company in 1911 It took Mr MacDonald but one year to become vice-president vice and general manager and in U he succeeded to the the presidency on the tha th e a death of Joseph V Moon In Jn the year 1893 1693 the Joseph W Moon Buggy Company was organized in St Louis Loui's to take over the business of the Moon Brothers Carriage Company and Joseph W V Moon who had been president of the older company for several years became the presiding S head of the new company In 1907 when the automobile in its earliest was experimental stages Mr Moon saw S the great possibilities of the new horseless carriage and andas as a result in the year 1907 the Moon Motor Car Company came into being The company continued to manufacture buggies and carriages in gradually diminishing numbers until 1916 In the meantime there became connected with the Moon Motor Car Company a brilliant young engineer who it is said from his very boyhood had cherished a burn burn- ing burning desire to create and build a super automobile With this thought in mind the young engineer Stewart MacDonald read every available piece of engineering literature litera litera- literature literature ture he could get his hands on and later attended Cornell U University graduating with high honors from the engineering school After several years with one of the large railroad systems of the country he became connected with the Moon Motor Car Company His ability was quickly recognized by the able board of directors and in 1912 Mr MacDonald became vice-president vice an and and general manager manager continuing in that capacity until 1919 when after the death of Mr loon he became president of the company Since t 1919 Stewart MacDonald has guided the company through the various ups and downs which have been visited upon the automobile industry during the past seven or eight years S and this by reason of his seeing far-seeing business and executive ability and wise
