feb 15 apparently th the e conflict conflicting irig interests in the senate are in dead deadlock loc over the conference report in the immigration bill and no one on either side will undertake to say what the outcome may be senators bacon and tillman are even more determined today than they were yesterday in their opposition to the bill on account of fbi provision which would prevent state associations of any kind from aiding in securing immigration to their states it is understood der stood that they ar are e supported by a number of Demo democratic cratt 0 senators senator S from the southern states on the tile other hand the republican advocates of the conference report say that it is impossible f for jr them theato to yield this point an informal conference was held upon the floor of the banate today with the above result the senate resumed consideration of the conference report on the immigration bill today mr bacon continued his speech in opposition to certain provisions which he regards as inimical to so ithe ra industries his was not a fac facet etlou loup objection but as he insisted one highly material mr air bacon said that under the tile ruling of the department of commerce and labor ethe contract labor clause of the immigration laws had been so construed as to permit the state immigration commis commission jon of south carolina to receive
