Show discussions STILL ON OVER THE IRISH BILL john redmond Redmon fl the irish leader ar flues sues for bill which will be in produced trod in H house ouse of commons london april 25 discussions are till 1 going on between the government ment and john redmond irish representative senta tive from the irish parliamentary tary party in the bouse house ot of commons respecting the irish hill which will be introduced in the house bouse may 7 that there are wide between the government officials and the irish frish nationalists relative to the terms of the measure is not denied but it has been agreed that the bill hall be introduced on the date determined upon by Se secretary creary tor for ireland Bt birrell rrell and nationalists are unable to 0 get froni frim the government they will endeavor to obtain by amendments which will be proposed during the debate ome of the cabinet members who favor home rule were willing to con concede concile Jile many of the demands of the irish party but the majority favored a measure far short of what mr redmond and his followers follower asked there have bave been many conferences on the subject and for a time it was thought the introduction would have to be postponed but the negotiations have now reached a stage at which it it is possible to present the measure to the house while the negotiations were going on those participating in them were nvere reticent as to the provisions of the bill but it cau can be stated broadly that it establishes an irish council partly executive and which shall administer the domesio affairs of ireland exclusive of the army and navy but will have little or no legislative powers this is far from what the nationalists desire in the discussions mr redmond strove for a greater rne measure asure of home rule and will carry the fight into the tile house of commons he will not however decline to accept what is offered as a stop to the nationalists who have abstained from participation in all the entertainments 1 to he colonial premiers everi even that given by the member of 0 the house ot of commons and are arranging a dinner dinner for the premiers on may iray 6 the eve of the introduction of the irish bill this will make inake the occasion for a grat great home rule demonstration ajl all the premiers being pronounced advocates of irish self govern ment |
