Show THEATERS A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM what fools these mortals bo be from the cold bard hard prosaic matter of fact world in which pessimism too often aften paints the clouds of hope with a somber hue it Is a pleasure often anies loebo translated it if only for a few hours and then within the vails wall of a theater to the realms of fairyland where elves fairies and goblins hold high carnival in A midsummer nights dream presented at tho the grand laet last night by annie russell and a most capable company tho the audi ence was wits initiated into just such an enchanted fairyland and tor for a time forgot the stera stern realities of life the production nas as eminently a success and theatergoers theater goers wore were kept busy holding aching sides while they laughed at the pranks of puck which resulted in the most amusing situations for lo 10 love 1 ve alck sick youths and maidens silas alias annie russell as puck tho mischievous was accorded a reception amounting to an ovation this talented little lady has surrounded herself with a first class nicely balanced company which gave the performance a rendition without a haw flaw the singing of the fairy fain chorus was pleasing the soloists especially rendering sev er oral al fine numbers the mechanical effects contributed largely to the success of the brodu production action elves and fairies made their entrance flying through tha air suspended of courso course by invisible wires but the illusion was vas there and proved a big feature of the performance the silvery laugh of miss russell la Is music to the tile ears seldom is such a melodious hearty and altogether pleasing laugh heard on the stage it Is as entrancing antt as the sound of tinkling belle as soft and low at times as the rippling waters of a purling brook as free and untrammeled as the songs of birds on the wing and as expressively pres eloquent as the speech of silver tongued orators just to hear her laugh Is worth going tho the comedy element of the show was funny the burlesque at the end of the tile fourth act being one hugh laugh throughout the work of john dunny bunny as bottom the weaver wag especially good mr bunny la Is a clever actor and arid extremely versatile catherine proctor and lansing Lans luff rowan as herala and helena gave give excellent ne inter interpretations ions of the parts miss rowing formerly starred with hor her own company through this section others in the cast were also good many ills come from impure blood cant have pure blood with faulty dl de dention dest stion lon lazy liver and sluggish bowels burdock blood bitters strengthens stomach bowels and liver and purifies the blood |
