| Show BIG celebration WILL BE HELD THIS YEAR prizes ranging in value from 75 cents to wilt be given away many special features ahe labor day committee have aa bounced that they will have their program for publication within the coming week while a number of matters have loueen decided upon definitely it is asato to say hat the day celebration this year will eclipse anything ever held in ogden by united labor A total value of 1500 in prizes ranging from a flie cent pocket knife to a city lot will be distributed tri buted the other big prizes will be valued at and it was announced that the lot would probably be given by the real estate mens association the days celebration starts with a monster parade at 10 in the morning and in which aery union in tho alby and many of the merchants will participate with beautiful industrial floats prizes will be given for the best floats and the unions making the best appearance in line at the conclusion ot tho parade exercises will be held in the grand opera house at which a prominent public official whose name has not been ghen out will be speaker of the occasion addresses will also be made by a number of prominent labor leaders A number of selections by the band will conclude the exercises in the at lemoon at glenwood park contests of every description will ba held there will also be bicycle races a base ball game and aug ot war contests band concerts and dancing will also bo given afternoon and evening tha 20 round boxing contests between cyclone thompson and pete sullivan will occur in tho saucer track in the evening at 7 the ball game called for 3 will probably be between the elks and a team of union men gan francisco aug 17 EL H harriman speaking of an interview with him telegraphed form keno nevada made the following statement to tho associated press you can deny absolutely that I 1 made any such statement quoting me as desiring to own all or any part of the railroads nor did I 1 say anything about managing the railroads of the country for the government ern ment |
