WILL SETTLE TROUBLE A commutes of union carpenters met last night at 5 with walking delegate jensen anil abo contractors repairing tho first national bank building to amicably adjust it possible the differences that have grown out of the original strike vt carpenters engaged on the building when they walked out demanding higher anges recently a new phase of the trouble haa arisen some time ago the carpenters on the building were temporarily dismissed owing to a period ot inactivity caused by the delay ot material and a painter was put to work varnishing the hardwood failings railings rai lings around the elevator shaft on each floor he brushed up a portion of the second floor railing out bedora he baj timo to complete the job he was called out by the union of which he la a member thia was done sunday and the railing Is still in an ed state and will remain so until a settlement has been affected in investigating thu action of the union the contractor discovered that the hardwood had been furnished by a lumber company whose material is by the local carpenters organization to be nonunion non union wood so when the union painter attempted to paint nonunion non union wood with union varnish and a union brush he was promptly called off the job and made acquainted quain ted with the situation
