Show BUCKEYE POLITICS senator dick does not think president is interfering cleveland ohio dec ag united state senator charles F dick who was in this city today said that he had seen no evidence that president roosevelt was trying to get control of the party management in ohio he said he could understand why mr merritt should make such a statement but that he expected to see no attempt by the president to control the republican politics in the different baates senator dick intimated that the mer statement was not to be taken ser bously congressman theodore E burton made a similar statement to that made by senator dick and added possibly it would be good tor the state if the president should control the state uon but I 1 do not believe the president desires to do so governor was asked today about uio assertion of mr merritt that president roosevelt was striving to secure control U the republican organizations in several states especially connecticut new york and ohio he said 1 I dont think ho needs any defense at my hands but I 1 nm tree to say that I 1 have seen no indication of any disposition on his part to control things in this state |
