Show EDWARD WILDER DEAD had absen treasurer of santafe R R co for twenty years topeka kas doc 20 edward wilder treasurer of the to peka snata fc railroad since 1876 died at his home in this city at tonight of tuberculosis of the lungs he had been sick for about two years but did not give up until a week ago care of bis work sitting on his porch dictating to his stenographer he attended the annual meeting of the directors october 26 his last appearance at the general offices edward wilder was born in boston september 4 1843 he vas the third of four sons children of david wilder for many years auditor of the state of massachusetts when 14 yeara of age he left school and entered the employ of the cunard steamship company of boston he remained there nearly three years and then entered the officio of the superintendent of tho B 0 railroad company in here he was made paymaster and subsequently auditor holding this office until tho consolidation of that company with the W R R company making the present B A railroad in 1870 he accepted a position as land commissioner with the hannibal st joseph railroad and moved to hannibal mo he was married in 1868 to miss mary C scott of philadelphia he only stayed with the hannibal company for a year and then came to topeka in 1871 as the assistant treasurer of the santa fe five years later he was made the secretary and treasurer of the company |
