Show MORTON ON EQUI TABLES NEW POLICY has abandoned old ways and evil banking associates and will hereafter behave new york sept 11 president paul morion outlined the policy of the new management ot the equitable lite assurance society in an address which he delivered at manhattan beach today to agents of the society who como from different parts of the country actor briefly reviewing events in the equitable mr morton said 1 I am going to say a few words to you on your administration there will be no attempt to make it dazzlingly brilliant the effort will be to make it honest courageous and conservative serva tive there will be the greatest consideration for the poll holders and at every turn their infests will be protected all of the are policy holders businesslike business like methods will prevail the more economy of the right sort we can institute the more wo can save to the policy holdena ho investments will be of the highest character tho institution will not be run as an adjunct to any one or several banking houses every owner of securities have a chance to deal with us and our aim will be to buy the very best at tho very lowest price the cheaper tha society can be properly administered the better we can invest our earnings and the better showing we can make the easier it will ba for agents to sell our insurance I 1 want to see the insurance revived as far as possible I 1 believe in proper laws regarding the sacred trusts of insurance su rance and I 1 will co onerato in the enactment of any necessary laws with that end in view we shall all work to put the business ot life insurance on the elevated plane it ought to occupy the new management of the equitable will insist m an annual audit of its affairs by an unbiased and independent accountant there will be no attempt to deceive anybody not even ourselves retrenchments Retrench ments are the order of the day in the equitable they already amount to over per year which is equal to our per cent on an investment of abey will amount to a much larger sum before we are through and I 1 am sure that we will satisfy not only our policy holders and our own agents but the many who will buy what we have to sell |
