Show IS GIVEN SENTENCE FOR LEWD CONDUCT Salt Lake, July 26. Charles Brown, a married man, 35 years of age, living liv-ing in the vicinity of Liberty park, arrested Wednesday for lewd conduct while mingling with the women and girls in the park, was convicted and fined $25 by Justice J. M. Bowman yesterday. Brown could not pay the fine and has started to servo twenty-five twenty-five days in jail Brown was arrested arrest-ed by First Sergeant Emil Johnson. Nophi, July 25. A fire started In the dry grass and brush north of the Broadhead farms at Four Mile creek Tuesday morning. The fire soon developed de-veloped daugerous proportions and raced across the foothills to the northward, threatening destruction to the farms of W. G. Orme and John C. Painter. Sweeping across the bench in ever-widening ever-widening scope the fire went close to tho edge of Orme's farm and on northward to Painter's farm in what is known as the "Little valley." Mr. Painter's grain and other crops were only saved from destruction by prompt- and hard work by a force of friends from Nephiand Levan, "fvho hurried to his assistance. A number of fences were burned, but no great damage was done otherwise. The fire traveled over an area several miles long and nearly a mile wide |
