Show CARRIED ON A SPECIAL TRAIN A special train, carrying Lieutenant Rogers of Fort Douglas, to the hospital hos-pital In Salt Lake, made.the 212 miles run from Wells, Nov., over the Southern South-ern Pacific railway Tuesday afternoon in flvo hours. The special was callod to save tho life of Lieutenant Rogers, who was kicked in tho abdomen by a vicious horse while he was buying horses on the . range 40 miles from Wells Tho Injured man was rushed to Wells In nn automobile. Fifteen minutes after the Bpoclal was called for It was pulling out of the yards and at certain stages of the run between be-tween Wolls and this city attained a speed of 100 miles nn hour Some little lit-tle time was lost In crossing tho cutoff, cut-off, by reason of the fact that the speed llmlt'on that stretch of the road is 25 miles an hour. The special reached this city at 7 45 p m , and In thrco minutes it was transferred to the Denver & Rio Grande road, over which it went Into Salt Lake. Conductor Conduc-tor J Stucky and Englnfer R M. Toy had the special from Wells to Mon-tcllo, Mon-tcllo, and Conductor J. P. Lyons and Engineer G F Loldlg pulled it Into this city The cost of lunulng the apodal was $378. Lieutenant Rogers, who Is now being be-ing cared for In tho hospital at Salt Lake, Is reported as being In a critical criti-cal condition. |
