Show PERSON TAKES ILBJfS PLACE J W Mulhcrn. general superintendent superintend-ent of the Utah lines of the Doiner & Rio Grande, with headquarters in Salt Lake City, yesterday resigned from this position, his resignation to take effect June 10 He will be succeeded suc-ceeded by A B. Apperson, who is well known in railioad circles here. Air. Mulhern came to the Denver : Rio Grande from the Western Pacific Pa-cific a little more than a year ago. He started in railroad work as a superintendent's super-intendent's messenger boy on the Chicago, Chi-cago, Burlington Quiucy and worked work-ed with tho Hill line for twenty-Bovcn years, having a turn at practically everything, ev-erything, from messenger boy t,o superintendent su-perintendent From tbe Burlington he was appointed superintendent of tho Illinois lines of the Chicago &. Alton which position he left on the completion com-pletion of the WeBtern Pacific to become be-come superintendent of the new road. When asked yesterday regarding his plans for the futuie. Mr. Mulhern said: "I haven't had a day off for about four years and the first thing I intend in-tend to do is to lake a rest of throo or four weeks." A. B. Apperson, who is to succeed .Mr. Mulhern, comes originally from the engineering department. Ho started work as a civil eugincer for the Union Pacific In 1S91 In 1S91 bo left tho Union Pacific to become vardmastcr and superintendent of terminals ter-minals for the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul. He held this position four rears, and then returned to the Ua-ou Ua-ou Pacific, where ho remained until 1905 He went to Salt Lake City February Feb-ruary 1. 1906, as superintendent of the Demor & Rio Grande, with headquar tors In Salt Lake City After thre years in this capacilj he became general gen-eral superintendent and traffic manager mana-ger of tho Castle Valley Coal company, com-pany, where ho continued until the companj sold Its interests |
