Mills, of the Ogden City public schools, has entertained any fear as to tho possible pos-sible offect of Leap Year on his available avail-able supply of teachers, said fears havo been somowhat allayed by tho action of tho young lady Instructors at tho Qulncy school, nine of whom havo voluntarily "sworn" that they will not propose to any man nor marry mar-ry during tho coming year. Superintendent Mills mentioned the matter at last evening's meeting of tho board of education and would doubtless havo appreciated It had the board Instructed all teacherB In the city to place themselves on record in a like manner. Qulncy teachers the board of education do-clded do-clded to re-elect Miss Ivy Williams clerk of the board at tho same salary sal-ary of $100 per month provided sho would promise not to propose to any man nor marry during tho year 1912. Miss Williams promised and her reelection re-election was unanimous. To Prcservo Contral School Bell Willard Ellis was also re-elected trcasurei at a salary of $1 por year and the funds of tho public schools will bo deposited for anothor two years at the Plngrce National bnuk, with which Mr. Ellis Is connected. The board of education may decide f to nsk the Ogden Lodge No. 719, B. P. O. Elks, to donate tho boll which now hangs In the tower of tho old Central school building to tho public schools of the city to bo placod In tho school museum. This bell was placed in the Central school building, ono of 'the oldest school buildings build-ings In tho city when it was first built and as tho structuro Is soon to bo remodolled Into a modern clubhouse it has been suggested that somothlng in the shape of a relic should be retained, Tho bell Is still in good condition, although al-though It Avas In "active s'prvlec" almost 50 years ago.
