McFarland led so easily all tho way that many thought ho could havo scored a knockout, but ho appeared to hold back to allow Hogan to last ten rounds. The Chicago man landed enough blows to knock out six men if he had used more steam, but ho seemed to dolight In tantalizing Hogan Ho-gan without allowing him inore than two or threo clean blows. Hogan weighed in at the ringside at 137 pounds, a pound hoavier than McFarland. " The bout began with McFarland loading with two lefts to the face and an attempt at a right swing, which ' missed and sent McFarland to tho ' floor by tho force of his own blows, but ho was up in a second and began be-gan fighting his man all over the ring and into his corner with lefts to the face and right uppercuts He used this combination repeatedly throughout tho bout and seomed to havo Hogan puzzled.
