Show SAD DEATH OF A YOUNG U A report has just been received of tho death of Victor G. Schmidt In Tho Dalles, Oregon, whore ho has been living for tho past rour years. Mr Schmidt's death comes as a great shock to his many friends here, whero ho lived for oyor three years, leaving Ogden to go t0 Oregon about four years ago this spring. While living in Ogden, Mr. Schmidt was employed bv tho Pacific and Wells Fargo express ex-press companies, running enet out of Ogden to Chcyonno as a messenger. . Miss ' Butterfleld was summoned a few cays before his death but only arrived in time for the funeral. An Oregon paper gives tho following follow-ing account of Mr. Schmidt's death: "Victor Schmidt, son ofMr. and Mrs. Charles Schmidt of Tho Dalles, died at 4:15 o'clock on the morning of February 28, tho demise bolng caiiB-er caiiB-er by tuberculosis and heart troublo. Hope for the recovery or the young man was given up some time ago, Dut the family and frlonds were not prepared pre-pared for tho sudden departure, death bolng entirely unexpected at tho time. Victor Schmidt was born and raised rais-ed in The Dalles and received his education edu-cation in the local public schools. He was at one time an employe of tle Ladd and Tllden Bank of Portland, and' it was while working In this establishment es-tablishment that ho first became seriously se-riously ill. "Mr. Schmidt was a member of tho Elks and the obsequies were conducted conduct-ed under the auspices or that order. Besides the parents, Mrs. W. E.
