In 1910 G9 per cent of the talc was ground and 21 per cent made Into slabs and manufactured The product of New York is practically all ground Most of the ground talc is used In the manufacture of paper of various kinds, especially building paper, says Health Culture It finds application also In the manufacture of molded rubber forms and as foundiy facings and paints. It readily absorbs grease, and Is used to remove spots from Bilk and to bleach cotton goods On account of Its slipporiness it is widely used to lessen friction, and for this purpose It Is dusted Into gloves and shoes, and blown into conduits to ease tho introduction of electric wires or other conductors One of Ub widest applications is in toilet powders, pow-ders, most of which are made from high grade talc imported from Europe. Eur-ope. Laundrv tubs, griddles, foot warmers warm-ers and many other similar utensils are manufactured from soapstone.
