Trail-lng Trail-lng throuph tho mountains, well stocked with provisions to provido for a long chase, two sheriffs with, their posses of deputies are still con-tinulngthe con-tinulngthe man-hunt which 1b hoped to end in the capture of Hugh and Charles Whitney, tho bandits who added ad-ded the hold-up of the Cokcville bank two days ago to their long list of crlminnl escapades. The clue to the course taken by the Whltneys in their flight after the bank robbery came through word -of their stopping at the Kinney ran?h two miles northwest of horej yesterday yester-day afternoon, and of their stealing about 500 pounds of provisions. Thl3 is taken to indicate that the bandits are pushing into some hidden camp in the mountains and are preparing themselves for a protracted secret hiding. The posse which left hore yesterday yester-day morning, returned today, but without any news. During tholr search they had failed to come upon the trail of the fugitives. Sheriff Rich with his deputies from Mont-pellor, Mont-pellor, and Dcpnty Sheriff J R- Mc-Mann Mc-Mann of Fossil with a posse are in the mountains scouring about for the trail of the bandits'. To these forces aro added the special agents of the Oregon Short Lino, who arc, still after Hugh Whitney for the murder of Conductor Con-ductor William Kidd. and members of the Plnkorton force have also joined in tho chase. The fact that the robbers havo many friends in the Cokevllle country coun-try makes the task of the pursuers doubly difficult, as the bandits are protected at almost every turn they take.
