Show DERRICKS AT THE DAM SITE. J. P. O'Neill of the O'Neill construction construc-tion company returned from Logan this morning where he attended to business matters yesterday. He states that the work of pitching camp at tho South Fork reservoir dam site moved along nicely yesterday and that today the four laige derricks to be used on the -vwrks will arrho in Ogden fiom Weber canyon where they were used in the construction of the large concrete conduit for the Utah Light & Railway company. The derricks will be hauled to tho dam this afternoon and will be placed in position within the next day or two. Yesterday the kitchen and dining room tents wore pitched at the camp site an dsomo of the sleeping tents were also placed in position Tho preliminary surveys of the dam have been made and a force of teams and, men will begin moving dirt earlv in the morning. Mr. O'Neill says ho Is sending an extra force of men and teams to the work today and that ho. purposes to use every man and team possible to hurry tho excavating The ground Is perfectly dry and It j Is expected that tho entire excavation i will be completed without encountering encounter-ing water enough to cause any Inconvenience Incon-venience The contractor says ho Is not going to boast ahout what ho will accomplish, but he says tho mayor desires him to tfush tho work with all possible speed, consistent with good work, so as to permit some building on the dam before winter sots In, and that he thinks that in thirty days from now bedrock will bo in sight over all of tho dam site. oo Mrs. Berry's beginners dancing clasB at the New Colonial Thursday evening, even-ing, 8 p. ra. |
