Show oo WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FROM SHORE TO AEROPLANE WASHINGTON, Aug. 9. Efforts arc being made by tho navy dopartment to perfect a system of wireless communication com-munication betwoen shore stations nnd aeroplanes. Captain Mayo, commandant com-mandant of the Mare Island navy yard, lias boon authorized to conduct oxperlments with models of aeroplanes aero-planes suspended in tho air equipped with wireless outllts to determine whether the frame of an airship would act as a "ground" for the type of wireless used by the navy and permit communication with the shore, Tho models will be suspended on Insulated ropes between some stacks at the navy yard and an effort will be made to sond messages to the wlrolcss stations sta-tions at San Francisco and Yerba Buena. One Important point in dispute at this timo is whether tho wires neces-snry neces-snry to establish communication should be erected on top of the machines ma-chines or suspended from the bottom.
