Show BOY TRAGEDY IN SALT . LAKE .;. Salt Lake; July 14. Following a boyhood quarrel over the building of 3 "chute-the-chutes,'' Robert Newoll, 431 West Third North street shot his comrado, Theodore Schoenen, 11 j ears old, son of F. W Schoenen, 443 Wost Third North street, shortly before be-fore 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon when arguments of several days were crystallized In a little street fight at Third West and Third North streets Schoenen was taken to St Mark's hospital immediately after the shooting shoot-ing and an investigation of the wound showed that the bullet, which hud entered en-tered immediately over the left kid ney, had settled in the muscles of the back. Dr. H. B Sprague announced announc-ed last night that the wound was by no means dangerous and that the bullet bul-let would be removed today following an X-ray examination. Experiencing but a slight shock from the wound, Schoenon, accompanied accompa-nied by his brother, William, 13 years old, Harold Hallet, a delivery boy, residing at Sandy, and William Lloyd, 455 1-2 North Third West btreet walked to his home. Dr. A. F. Lorn- bard was summoned and the police were called. The boy was immediately immedi-ately taken to St. Mark's hosnital 1 "My brother and I had had many quarrels with Newell," said Schoenen as he was being taken to tho hospital, "over the building of a 'chute-the chutes' in Newell's yard. Early this morning wo had to fight with him He threatened that he would kill me at 11 o'clock In the morning I did not believe he dared to shoot me and when I met him at Third North and Third West streets 1 did not believe that he had a revolver Ho started the quarrel, and when I had my back turned for a minute he pointed the revolver In my back and fired it." Tho "chute-the-chutes" was an invention in-vention of Newell. With tho assistance assist-ance of the Schoenen boys he had worked on it several days. It was completed Wednesday and became the attraction of the small boy colony col-ony of the entire neighborhood. Newell New-ell is not only an Inventor, but In spito o( his young years has a keen Insight into business. Mr. Schoenen, father of the boy who was shot, Is at Butte, M.ont. When it was learned last night that the boy bad not been seriously injured in-jured no effort was mode to locate him.
