Show ' ''f CROWDED CARS. ' H Hundreds of complaints are being made, to this paper that the I I Bamberger road, in attempting to carry Ogdenites to and from the I j Lagoon resort' is supplying inadequate accommodations, forcing pa- I trons to stand in crowded cars, and this is particularly charged as I being a daily occurrence 071 late trains from Lagoon. I A newspaper must not be expected to perform the duties of a common scold or to be a regulator of everybody's private affairs, l)Ut there is some justification for this complaint and the public is I entitled to a medium for voicing the protest, ycl it comes with I poor .judgment for any one to complain against any such condi- tion of overcrowding on trains and to continue to help overcrowd j the J3amberger cars. I , The fault is not all chargeable against the Bamberger road. H (J People go down to the resort on every train, all through the day, I j remain until thc last car is a'bout to depart for home at night and, I in the rush, the' all expect to bo comfortably seated. It is a physi- 7cal impossibility for thc Bamberger people to give a perfect service under those conditions. J j There arc times though when the management is to blame, even at' a late hour at night. l?or instance, a party of Ogdenites were at ' Lagoon last evening. The crowd remained for the eleven o'clock car. This car was coupled to a "special car" chartered by Second "Word, picnickers. Thc two cars were jammed with people. Four excursion cars that had been attached to the "special car" were uncoupled un-coupled and left standing at the Lagoon, notwithstanding thc loud ' protests of the people clamoring for seats. That is somewhat in thc Rk nature of an imposition and. it is a mistreatment of the Ogdcu public tlmt demands an explanation and should receive the personal atten- 1 i' , tion of Simon Bamberger, who is known to be eager to please his v patrons, but who is now and then placed in au unenviable light by those in his employ, who are indift'erentnin .theirtreatment of the j ,, :gybjlv.
