Show M WATER, POWER AND WEALTH FOR OGDEN. H Ogden has reached the hour of opportunity the psychological H moment has arrived. Now is the time for this city and tributary H country to act. Other cities, with far less natural resources, have l gone forward at a great pace some have spent their forces and j have fallen back. What does the future hold in store for us? The H answer will be found on another page of this issue of the Exam- H iner, under the heading, "Million Dollar Bonds." . H It is proposed to turn the flood waters of Ogden river and the un- H employed energy of that stream tp the upbuilding of this city and H ( county; it is proposed to store 25,000 acre-feet of water and build H a great power plant; it is proposed to raise one million dollars by M bonds based on city and farm property, and with that million make H the foothills blossom as the rose and win ten thousand horsepower H from a harnessed stream; it is proposed to give to Ogden an inex haustible supply of water; it is proposed to give employment to an army of men and stimulate every line of business. This is the opportune time for Ogden to forge ahead. If this city maintains a vigorous growth, while other places continue to slip backward, five years will see this the metropolis of the inter-mountain inter-mountain country, This advancement can be gained by making possible pos-sible the cultivation of a greater agricultural area in and around Ogden, and, in other ways as outlined in our feature story of today, developing the wonderful natural resources of Ogden and Weber county. One year of activity or two at most would tide us over any posible business upset in the nation; then, with the return of widespread wide-spread prosperity, Ogden would be in a position to be heralded as the Queen City of the Mountains and the home of Opportunity. Shall wc strike with all our might for this glorious possibility? |
