Show JU- NOTES FROM TUE DISTRICT COURT The defendants not resisting the application ap-plication for a receiver in the case of tho Continental Life Insurance & Investment In-vestment company against Edwin G. McGrlff and others, J. M. Forlstall yesterday yes-terday afternoon was appointed to fill that position, his bond being fixed at ?10,000. Condemnation Proceedings. Ogden City has begun condemnation proceedings against W. G. Wilson for a right of way over tho defendant's property for the Cold Water canvon conduit. The petition asks for immediate imme-diate possession of the ground required requir-ed for the pipe lino, 10 feet wide and 1-182 feet long. The defendant has refused! to permit per-mit the city to use the ground in question, ques-tion, except upon the payment of $1000. In Carnahan Estate. In tho matter of the estate of Dr. J. D. Carnahan, Mary- C Carnahan, her daughter, Catherine G. Carnahan, and her son, Thomas S. Carnahan, have petitioned tho district court to appoint A. R Heywood administrator. No valuation is placed upon the estate, es-tate, tho petition merely stating that the doctor died Intestate, April 7, 1911. Deny Citizenship Papers. The application of John Lourens and Bokko W. PaBtma, natives of tho Netherlands, Neth-erlands, for final papers of citizenship were denied by Judge Howell yesterday yester-day afternoon. Lourens wns not qualified, qual-ified, Sinco tnking out his first papers Pastraa spent two years In the old country on a mission, and the question arose- as to whether he could bo considered con-sidered as having resided in this country coun-try during that time. Judge Howell was of the opinion that he did not lose his residence by virtue of the mission, hut the department of commerce and labor decided that he did. Ho will not be permitted to take out his papers pa-pers until ho has resided here two moro years. |
