Senator La Follette, armed with the now evidence brought out by the special committee of the Illinois legislature, still held the privilege of tho floor today to present to the senate his further reasons rea-sons why that body should adopt hl3 resolution of inquiry, intended as a substitute for thnt of Mr. -LaFoIIette, would be adopted It is thought the new investigating committee will bo Senators Dillingham, chairman, Sutherland Suth-erland and Kcnyon, Republicans, and Kearn and Lea, Democrats. The last three are serving their first senatorial terms. The joint resolution providing for the admission into the Union of Arizona Ari-zona and 'New Mexico reached Us daj-of daj-of final consideration b' the house and will be placed on its passage he-foro he-foro adjournment tonight. No doubt of its adoption is felt. General debate on the measure, It was agreed should be cut off at 3 lo'clock, the resolution then to be called up under the flve-mlnute rule. Republicans had amendments, seeking seek-ing to admit New Mexico without the submission to the voters of that territory terri-tory of a provision making the constitution con-stitution more easily amendable. The resolution was offered on behalf of the Democratic Demo-cratic minority by Senator Martin.
