The strike against the Adanis Express company, , which directly affected the Wells-Fargo Wells-Fargo company and. the United State? Express company, was declared off tonight to-night at a meeting of the strikers. Nayor Gaynor had previously notified noti-fied the strikers that he would see that policemen accompanied all wagons, wag-ons, booauae he did not believe the strike was warranted, and for several Idaya every wagon of the three companies com-panies has carried officers. As a result, re-sult, there has been comparatively little lit-tle disorder. Before declaring the strike off a committee called on the general agent of the Adams company and a3kcd that terms would be given If the men returned re-turned to work. They were Informed that the company would treat the men as individuals when they Inquired for employment, but would not recognize the union. After the committe had reported the strike was called off. ' It is expected most of the disaffected disaffect-ed workers will return tomorrow. " |
