Tho recent broad demand for bonds and other high-grade issues was well sustained, but the movement In stocks was conspicuous only for its slightly better tone. Commission houses reported an awakening of public interest in the market but the demand from this source Is hardly large enough to make marked impression on prices. Business on the exchange in the early part of the week was fairly large, but fell to small proportions later. lat-er. Professionals responsible for the upward movement last fall are again committed to the bull account, but thus far their attitude has enlisted little outside support. Unusual interest attaches to next week's meeting here of the loading steel and iron producers, despite unofficial un-official assurances that price conces-sions"are conces-sions"are Improbable. An early flurry in money, which sent call loans up to 7 per cent, was followed by greater case. Indications point to an indefinite plethora of money at this center,. |
