Colonel Blddlo Bld-dlo was appointed a lieutenant of marines ma-rines by President Grant In 1S75 and for the meritorious performance of his duty was promoted to a captaincy. His advancement to tho rank of major took placo when the personnel bill becarao be-carao operative, and ho was placed in charge of the recruiting of marines In o3tern Pennsylvania. Later he rose to a colonelcy. |
