Show Furloughed Men Get More Gas Members of the nation's armed j forces on leave or furlough three days or more are entitled to one j gallon of gasoline per day up to a maximum of 30 gallons, effective ef-fective Tuesday, E. H. Azbill, state office of price administration administra-tion mileage rationing representative,, representa-tive,, announced Thursday. "It has become v evident," Mr. Azbill said, "that the policy being be-ing practiced has resulted in giving giv-ing more gasoline to members of the armed forces who get many short leaves than to men who receive re-ceive one long leave. It has proven prov-en unfair to men who serve out of the country for a number of moths and then return for a long leave."' Gasoline rations will range between be-tween a minimum of 3 gallons for a 3-day leave to 30 gallons for a 30-day leave. Gasoline will not be allotted to members of the armed forces on leaves or passes shorter than 3 days. To receive a ration, the service man must apply to the war price and rationing board which has jurisdiction over the automobile which he expects to drive. He must present proper leave or furlough fur-lough papers. |
