Total expenditures for the period per-iod were $428,874 compared with $306,186 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1943, according to Noble Chambers, manager. Of the total to-tal expenditure the federal government gov-ernment contributed 44 per cent; the state, 41 per cent and the county, 15 per cent. A slight decrease was noted in the total numbeXqf welfare cases, he said. During the past year, 911 cases were listed on the rolls compared with 931 the previous year. Old age assistance continued as the leading bracket, with $330,213 being expended this year and $274,369 last year. Mr. Chambers explained. General assistance increased from $27,889 last year to $29,369 this year while a drop was noted in administrative costs, from $19,-843 $19,-843 to $19,037.
