He asked to borrow that shovel, promising prom-ising that in return he would allow him to borrow Smith's lawn mower next summer. There are some people who are habitual borrowers. borrow-ers. Many of them are careless about returning the thing they borrow. That it particularly true in borrowing bor-rowing books. Many people who loan them freely discover that cherish volumes have gone, and they can't remember to whom they loaned them. As for the ordinary utensils of the home and garden, people' should find such satisfaction in using them that they want to own them for themselves. |
