Show KIWANIS GLUB INSTALLS OFRCERS Smithfield Kiwanis club held its annual installation of officers offi-cers at a meeting Thursday night at the Smithfield Junior high school. Past Lieutenant-Governor L. E. Nelson of Logan inducted the officers offi-cers for 1942. They are Leo C. Nelson, president; Cyril R. Nelson, Nel-son, immediate past president; Clayton W. Raymond, first vice president; Edgar M. Pitcher, second sec-ond vice president; J. Newell Stephens, secretary-treasurer; Dr. G. L. Rees, two year director; Dr. T. V.'. Jarvis, holdover one year director; J. C. Perkins, holdover one year director; C. Yv Clark and Dr. D. H. Gregory, new two year directors. C. R. Nelson presided at the meeting and gave a brief report on 1941 activities cf the club, which listed many civic1 accomplishments. accom-plishments. L. E. Nelson was the guest speaker and had as his topic "The Purpose of Kiwanis and duties of the officers." Musicial numbers included group singing of (patriotic and Kiwanis songs and two violin solos by Evan A. Hansen, accompanied by Norma Hansen. The Kiwanis club of Smithfield is sponsoring the Red Cross war relief fund drive and a special meeting has been set for tonight at 7:30 in the Smithfield library to get a report on the results of the campain. |
