Show Farm Bureau Ladies Hold First Meeting The Home and Community department de-partment of the Farm Bureau held its first meeting of the year at the courthouse Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Orson U. Hyer and Mrs. Irene Stoddard, delegates to the recent Adult Leadership traing-:ing traing-:ing school, reported activities of 'the committese on which they -worked; namely yo'uth, and Family Buying Practices. A demonstration on the new yardstick of good nutrition was presented by Amy R. Kearsley, home demonstration agent. The food needs of a moderately ac-. ac-. tive woman for one day as meas-..ured meas-..ured by the new yardsetick were shown in actual foods. Local leaders present participated partici-pated in a food quiz which ' : brought out points to be develop- ed in later meetings. The entire year's program will be based on - foods and nutrition as an important import-ant part of the defense program. The chairman's annual report was made by Mrs. Florence Allen while Mrs. Louis Olsen, secretary-, secretary-, treasurer, read the financial state-. state-. ment. Mi's.
