Show APPROXIMATELY 1200 REGISTER AT USAC FOR FALL QUARTER I Utah State Agricultural college I entered into its postwar educa- j jtion era Monday when 1249 stud-- ents registered for fall quarter : and began classwork. The students followed a new ; procedure throughout the day. j They received forms at an as-! as-! sembJy for new students in the main auditorium and at the registrar's reg-istrar's office, and then were introduced in-troduced individually to Dr. Harris. Scheduling of classes, payment i of fees, counsel with the dean of students or dean of women, interviews inter-views with the military science department and appointments for physical examinations were part of the day's routine. Registration will continue throughout the week, according to W H. Bell, registrar. Students should contact the dean of the, school in which they will major i for information about required and , elective classes. I The college auditorium was 'crowded in the evening at a pro- gram sponsored by the student j body. All student officers andj members of the football team were introduced, along with ma- j jor administration officers at the, school. j Traditional Aggie songs were j sung and brief welcoming talks given by President Harris, Dr. M. A. Pedersen and Student Body President Dan Ludlow. j Following the assembly, a "no date" dance was held in the field-house. field-house. First week get-acqualnted events will include a combined pep-rally and theater party at the Capitol theater Friday at 6:50 p. m. for the entire student body. This is in preparation for the Saturday football game between the Aggies and the Idaho Marine "Devil Dogs." Other activity is a four-H club canyon party Tuesday for all former for-mer 4-H club, members: a concert and reception Wednesday at 8 p. m. in the Logan L.D.S. Institute, a home economics club party Thursday, and an associated women students tea Sunday afternoon for all freshmen girls. |
