Show Utah Highway Patrol Suggests Know Your Traffic Laws Reckless Driving Any person who drives any vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving. Punishment Every person convicted of reckless driving shall be punished pun-ished upon a first conviction by imprisonment for a period I of not less than five days nor more than six months or by a fine of not less than $20 nor more than $299, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The department shall suspend sus-pend for a period not exceeding exceed-ing three months, the operator's opera-tor's or chauffeur's license of any person convicted upon three charges of reckless driving driv-ing committed within a period of 12 months; PROVIDED, however, that if, on first conviction, con-viction, the justice shall recommend rec-ommend suspension of the convicted person's licence for a period not to exceed three months. |
