Show Brief Sketches ! By HUGH O'NEIL S : The report of the superintendent of the Loagn .city schools for January Jan-uary 5, 1905 as submitted by D. C. Jensen indicates that Logan had nine school buildings; the Woodruff, Wood-ruff, a nine-room building at the corner of First West and First South streets; the Benson, an eight room building, at the corner of First East and Fourth North streets; the Parry and Ellis, each of two rooms; and five smaller buildings of one-room each, all situated more or less at the oul skirts of the city. The minimum salary paid to ; teachers during the yaer was $40; I and the maximum was $60. The school principals received an average of $76.25 per month. The : supervisor of music received I $52.50 per month. Bonded indebtedness of the city school system in 1903-1904 was $25,000. The members of the board of education was paid $500 during 1903-1904 and the superin. tendent's salary for the same pe-riod pe-riod was $1000 per year. |
