Show ' Classwork Will Begin On September 3 Readin", 'ritm and 'rithmetic will begin again for Cache county school students on Monday, September Sep-tember 3. it was announced today by J. W. Kirkbride. district superintendent, su-perintendent, following a meeting of the county board of education. The board in their regular bimonthly bi-monthly session, approved a calendar cal-endar for the 1945-46 school year and made several appointments to the teaching staff, he reported. Feature of the calendar is a full-week Christmas holiday vacation, va-cation, the first such arrangement made in the past several years. School will close December 21 and will reopen January 2, 1946. First holiday from the classrooms class-rooms is scheduled for October 12 to 29 when . the schools will be dismissed for the , annual beet harvest vacation, lie said. The Thanksgiving vacation is. slated to begin November 22 and school will close May 24. 1946. The calendar provides for a full 172 term as required by state regulations, Mr. Kirkbride said. The board approved a contract for Gene Funk, a 1944 graduate of Utah State Agricultural college, col-lege, who will join the English department at North Cache high school. Other teacher changes include Adelle Beutler to the Smithfield first grade replacing Mildred Gun-nell, Gun-nell, who was transferred to Hyrum Hy-rum as first grade instructor.
