Show Seniors Bid Adieu To U S. A. C. Reviewing the history of the class of 1945, Mary White, Tre-monton, Tre-monton, Wednesday told the Utah State Agricultural college student body lrWe feel that these four ; years have been worthwhile because be-cause they have made us conscious con-scious of our place in society and because they have made us realize that like it or not we must be the leaders of tomorrow and upon us, and others like us, rests the responsibility of America's position in the years to come", in the annual senior assembly. The assembly, which opened events of traditional commencement commence-ment week on the college campus honored senior students and new members of Alpha Sigma Nu, hon. orary senior fraternity compoosed of the twelve outstanding senior students. In delivering the class address, Miss White outlined activities of the class since 1941 when it was composed of 707 freshmen until spring 1945 when the enrollment j has dwindled through the wan years to 175 graduation candidates. 1 She reviewed the changes of the institution during the past four ! years, concluding that "We know we must study the past to understand under-stand the present and work out the . future. We know we must be aware of our surroundings ia order to contribute to and preserve democracy. We know that we I must temper self-interest , and self - righteousness t o maintain peace in a shrinking world. And with this knowledge and the memory, mem-ory, of our four years at Utah Sate to guide us, God grant that we may achieve our goal." Atiother highlight of the assembly assem-bly wa'S announcement of Sigma .Nu members by former members under the dicertion of Burns Crokston, North Logan, president. Dan Ludlow, Santaquin, student-! student-! body president for two terms and I varsity debater, was named pres-! pres-! ident of the organization for the j new season, and Marion Carlisle, i Logan, two-year councilman and I journalist, was appointed vice president.
