Show 4-H Dairy Girls to Vie for Honor Rural girls in this state have an exceptional opportunity to help speed victory, and at the same time gain valuable exjjerience in public specking and in developing team-work ana sportsmanship, by enrolling in the 1945 National Dairy Foods Demonstrations. The activity is conducted under the direction of the Extension Service of the USAC and the U. S. Department De-partment of Agriculture cooperating. cooperat-ing. In this activity, 4-H Club girls learn how to prepare nutritious dishes, salads and desserts essential essen-tial to a healthy family diet by using milk, butter, cheese end other dairy products. They also receive training in demonstrating what they learn before public audiences aud-iences in their community, which will inspire many rural housewives to use the 4-H girls' recipes. This, in turn, will result In a widespread contribution to the "Food Fights for Freedom" program, which is a highly important factor in the nations war effort. Outstanding records of achievement achieve-ment in this activity will be rewarded re-warded on county and state levels Awards donated by the Kraft Cheese Company comprises a silver sil-ver medal to the champion 'in. i dividual demonstrator, and gold medals to the two members' of the top-ranking demonstration team in es ch participating county. A State champion individual and team, selected from the county winners, will each receive a $50 U. S. War Savings Bond. Last year's state champion team in Utah was Mary Heckman and Margene Cox of Providence. County Coun-ty winners were named in Carbon, Emery, Grand, Iron, Juab, Piute, San Juan, Sevier and Summit.
