Show Republicans Slate Rally Tuesday Cache county Republicans will open their final election drive Tuesday when they present a "travelcade" of the county, to be climaxed by a giant rally at the Logan Junior high school auditorium, Lloyd M. Theurer,. county chairman, announced today. to-day. Adam S. Bennion, candidate for U. S. senate; Briant S. Stringham, candidate for First district congressman, con-gressman, and J. Bracken Lee, who seeks to be governor of the state, will be members of the official party. Several other candidates can-didates for state offices also will be members of the party. Local candidates who will join the .group are Heber Whiting, Smithfield; H. R. Weston, Logan, and Byron Snow, Nibley, state legislature candidates; A. J. Fuh-riman, Fuh-riman, Logan and Dow Lewis, of Lewiston, who seek county commissioner com-missioner posts, and L. Tom Perry, candidate for re-election as county attorney. The party will begin their tour in Wellsville at 10:30 a. m., with a reception. They will go to Hy-rum Hy-rum at 11:30 a. m., to Smithfield at 2 p. m.; Richmond at 3 p. m. and Lewiston at 4 p. m. he said. A dinner, to which the public is invited, will be held at Hotel Eccles beginning at 6:30 p. m. Reservations must be made at Republican headquarters in Hotel Eccles not later than Monday at 5 p. m. Plates will be $1.25 each. Mr. Bennion, Mr. Lee and Mr. Stringham will be speakers at the rally program in the junior high auditorium which will be broadcast over KVNU. The South Cache high school band, directed by W. R. Terry and the Imperial Glee club will provide musical numbers. Assisting with arrangements for the tour are Mrs. Dorthy Laub, county chairwoman and Norman Christensen, secretary. |
