Show 4"H Clubs Boost Utah's . Game Birds Another season of pheasant raising has been successfully completed by the Cache County 4-H Clubbers, according to Gordon Gor-don Erlckson, Club leader. By the cooperation of tine State Fish and Game Department, 22 young people were enabled to obtain ob-tain day old pheasant chicks and care for them until they were old enough to adequately take care of themselves in the fields. The 4-H members brood, house and feed the birds and kept accurate records on the expense. When the birds are liberated by the state representative and the records are submitted, the members receive re-ceive seventy five cents for each normally healthy bird at- the age of eight weeks. Objective of sponsoring this program is to stimulate more in-erest in-erest and greater outdoor appreciation appre-ciation amoung the boy's and girls for nature and the ''great out of doors," and to create' more favorable attitude toward the propagation and conservation of the game birds of this state, and to teach the boy's and girls how to raise and protect pheasants and other game birds found in this state. |
