Show CACHE TEACHERS GET PAY IE New Salary Schedule Adopted by Board A new salary schedule, providing provid-ing for a substantial increase in wages for teachers, custodians and bus drivers of the Cache county school district, was adopted adopt-ed by the district board Thursday after a several week's study, Clerk Lloyd M. Theurer announced an-nounced today. The board voted a 10 per cent increase in the budget for all groups, Mr. Theurer explained, but it does not mean that all employes em-ployes will have a 10 per cent increase in salary. The increases will be based on experience, years of service and education and will be distributed on a percentage per-centage basis. All employes will receive some increase in salary, he said, which will include the normal increase given to each tercher for each year he serves in the district. Mr. Theurer was authorized to draw up new contracts for the 1944-45 school year and he said distribution will begin immediately. immediate-ly. The contracts will be made up on a 10 month basis. A committee, representing the district teachers' association, met with the board and discussed the salary program. C. B. Johnson, instructor at North Cache high school, headed the committee, which included Glen Winn, principal prin-cipal of Smithfield Junior high school; Sylvester Anderson, principal prin-cipal of Millville school and president pres-ident of the teachers' association and Grant Bagley of the Richmond Pr.rk school. Mr. Theurer said the action will increase the district's salary budget bud-get from $265,350 this' year ' to $291,885 for the 1944-45 year; custodians from $29,842 to $32,825 and bus drivers from $18,000 to $19,800. The board also approved inspection in-spection trips of all schools to determine summer renovation programs, pro-grams, Mr. Theurer said. The inspection in-spection trips will be made by the Superintendent, Clerk and board member of each district before be-fore school ends in May. |
